Low Oil Pressure fault on fitted engine, delays refitting/testing of second power unit.

D1015 has been run with just one engine reinstalled and has a persistent fault with low oil pressure.

Unfortuantely, this means the engine has to be removed once again to rectify this fault, which in turn delays the refitting and testing of the second power unit. All very time consuming and frustrating but absolutely necessary in order to bring Western Champion back to mainline running. We have not been given an estimate for a likely date for load testing on the rail network but it is unlikely to be within the first half of this year.

We wish all the team at Kidderminster every success in curing the oil pressure fault and for the fitting and testing of the second power unit.

For the time being we have suspended ticket sales whilst we wait for a date for D1015's return to service and refunds have also been halted. However, if you would like to cancel your booking, please let me know and we will arrange a full refund. If you are able to maintain your booking until we have a confirmed date for this train but that date is not suitable for you, the option for a full refund will remain open to you.

Thank you all for your patience and kind words of support.
