Plans for The Golden Banker under review - final confirmation awaited.

The Golden Banker

Unfortunately, our rolling stock provider has informed us that they can not now guarantee availability of carriages for August 31st and they have also prohibited their vehicles travelling over heritage lines. At this time we have approached an alternative supplier of carriages and we await their response but this will mean we can not now run The Golden Banker on August 31st and we will sadly not be able to use 50008 which we had lined up thanks to support from Hanson & Hall.

However, I am pleased to announce that Colas Rail have kindly offered to supply a pair of Class 37s (loco numbers not known at this time) and we are looking at alternative dates in the autumn. The tour itinerary will retain key features including coverage of the Devon Banks, Plymouth Friary and of course a visit to Buckfastleigh on the beautiful South Devon Railway.

The Magnificent Severn

As for D1015 Western Champion, we are told it is hoped that mainline testing of the loco will be carried out during the summer. WCR have no rolling stock available to us through the summer months as they have a very full order book, so we are look at possible dates in October/November to run The Magnificent Severn to Machen, the Dean Forest Railway and Sharpness.

Thank you all for your patience and keen interest in these two tours...we can't wait to see you on board for two tours featuring interesting routes and brilliant British Rail motive power.
